Apartment project: Sea theme

The couple loves the sea and is the owner of a marine equipment store. Actual space: the sofa is small, she doesn’t like dark wood. Both like straight lines. Thus in order to meet the couple’s needs program, in the living room space, a 3-seater retractable sofa was chosen. This way they can watch the big TV with more comfort.

Due to the number of electronic devices that they use I designed a rack that occupies the entire wall in front of the sofa having a greater depth. Straight lines and materials with a modern look were the best for the furniture. The walls of the space were painted in gray, a neutral tone that served as a backdrop for the other shades distributed in the environment such as blue, water green, white, and lightly wooded flooring. The dining room will accommodate the existing table and chairs set and will receive a sideboard in vibrant color. On the wall that fills the background in the dining space will be used 3D wall tile to add some drama.

Taking advantage of the view of the apartment that the couple likes to enjoy when they eat I chose a counter with high stools just outside the kitchen. The material of the counter was gray granite. In the lobby, we will have a piece of furniture that will serve 3 purposes: keep shoes discreetly at the bottom, serve as a bookcase for objects collected by the couple and help in privacy at the entrance of the property. Light from the top shelves will direct the view to the collections displayed. In the lobby to the way to the bedrooms accent lights will illuminate photographs and paintings of the couple on the walls. Overall the environment will have straight lines and diverse use of textures, shades of blue, and difference in heights to provide movement to space.
